Like Stephen King, I, Arch, also worked at a laundry (1), but I got fired. They threw me out into the streets where I was adopted by a pack of mice - not rats, mice! There IS a difference. After getting much counsel from them, I had a brain injury, but it wasn't their fault. It was self-induced. And that brings me to today.

"Valour and the Purple Heart" is my third book. The other book titles are "Sanctity of Life .... A Walking Miracle" and "Helio & Amillio." The process of writing if you keep on it matures and so do your skills in being a wordsmith. My education at the Catholic school hasn't hurt any - or my college (BGSU in Bowling Green, OH, home of the "Falcons" and St. Claire Junior College in International Falls, MN, home of the "Fighting Moose"). I am deeply grateful for that!

When I wrote "Valour and the Purple Heart," I was able to look outside myself in honoring 4 veterans in this book - from different eras of war. An outside perspective is always good for the soul.

I grew up in the Midwestern region of the country. Early on my family was very musical, and to this day I still enjoy playing the guitar. I have written music books, but my passion is more for writing novels. I also like writing vignettes because you have to be precise and concise, to the point, to be effective.

The late, great Rodney Dangerfield said, "I get no respect!" But Aretha Franklin differs from that opinion - It's R-E-S-P-E-C-T! I have always loved humour, and I love the play on words that the English language affords me.

Treat everyone with honour and respect. Those are the keys to your life. I love the freedoms that we enjoy, one being freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and I want to thank our veterans for making that possible!

I was a terror as a child to my mother, and thank God that she didn't slap me silly. She gave me a great platform to start my life on. And that is why I is here!!!

P.S. For those of you who have been following me, my beloved Bernice passed away recently, the same day "Valour and the Purple Heart" was published. I had highs and lows - of emotional valleys and mountain peaks. I didn't like feeling that way, but it all happened on the same day. I have written a eulogy for Bernice which you can find on my facebook page, ejj archer.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

THE SANCTITY OF LIFE...A WALKING MIRACLE

The motto of 1 Alpha Elite Service is strong and the code is even stronger! The motto: Best of the Best! Never, never, never give up and never surrender! The Code: Honor, Truth, and Justice! “….The wounded Marine was asking for water. “I’m thirsty. Water, I need water.” …The Marine said, “No. I got a ‘dear John’ letter, and I cried like a baby.” He laughed and said, “It doesn’t matter now, does it?” Da Kid said, “Yes, it does! ….”.

VALOUR AND THE PURPLE HEART

ejj archer sat with Da Kid, a member of the CIA 1 Alpha Elite Service whose mission was to STOP GENOCIDE. This is the never-before-told story of a group of heroic young men risking life and limb on many of their missions which took them to different parts of the globe – the deserts of Algeria, the highlands and lowlands of Southeast Asia, the jungles of Burma near Tibet, and points in between. There are no geographical boundaries when it comes to the prevention of human extermination.
